Orange Intersection Crash Fatal for 19 Year-Old Man
May 4, 2012 - According to reports a two car collision at an intersection in Orange caused a 19 year-old man to be fatally injured. According to Orange County Police Department Sgt. Dan Adams the two vehicle collision occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m. Thursday night. The accident occurred at the intersection of Jamboree Road and Chapman Avenue in Orange.
Sgt. Adams said a gray Honda Civic was traveling in the northbound lanes on Jamboree Road when it collided with a green Toyota Corolla that was traveling westbound on Chapman Avenue. The vehicles collided in the intersection causing the driver of the Corolla to suffer fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Sgt. Adams said.
According to Orange Supervising Deputy Coroner Larry Esslinger, the driver of the Corolla that died has been identified as 19 year old Angel Fernandez of Orange. Sgt. Adams said the driver of the Honda Civic suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
According to Orange County Police Department investigators one of the vehicles ran a red light and it is unknown if alcohol or speed was involved in the collision.
